Headlining the Gala Awards Ceremony is Tom Barnwell, fresh from his appearance on BBC’s The Voice. Plus Tom will be backed on stage by Sorority from JayKays Dance Company, making a welcome return to our show.
On The Voice Tom wowed all four coaches in his blind audition by performing his rendition of Estelle and Kanye West’s American Boy – see below. Tom moved through to battle rounds but unfortunately was knocked out by his battle opponent due to Tom being too ‘shy’, something that made a lot of friends and colleagues of Tom laugh knowing that this is far from the case.
And here’s a video of Tom doing a cover version of Tracey Chapman’s Fast Car.
Tom will be joined on stage by Sorority from JayKay’s Dance Company. Sorority have been with us from the beginning, performing at every one of our Gala Awards Ceremonies. A dance group of 10 female dancers aged 16 – 27 years old, they predominately perform with a commercial street dance style.
JayKay’s Dance Company is a busy and expanding dance school based in Leamington Spa and established in 2006. The dance school offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Street Dance, Freestyle, Musical Theatre and Gymnastics. Visit their website www.jaykaysdancecompany.co.uk/
